Tofu is also commonly known as bean curd and it is a soft cheese-like food product which is obtained by curdling fresh soya milk. Tofu is originated from china and was originated some 2 thousand year before. Tofu is a very common and frequently consumed ingredient in Chinese and Thai cuisine. Tofu was introduced to Western nations in the late 20th century.

As discussed above that tofu is made from soy milk; soy milk is curdled and pressed into a solid block and cooled. The procedure of making tofu is quite similar to the process of making traditional dairy cheese. Tofu has the ability to absorb the flavour of other ingredients. There are a lot of types of tofu available in the market. The main factor that creates difference between these types is the texture, which varies from soft to very firm.
