DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VITAMINS AND MINERALS

MINERAL AND VITAMINS

The following discussion which will take place would be between the basic information of vitamins and minerals and lead to their differences.

VITAMINS:
A vital organic compound which an organism needs in limited amounts is basically known as a Vitamin. Vitamins are such organic compounds which are cannot by synthesized by the body of an organism itself so it needs to take in sufficient amounts of it as it is very important for the proper functioning of the body of the organism. Each type of Vitamin for a specific type of organism is based upon the conditions and the specific type of organism; for example, ascorbic acid which is a type of vitamin C is beneficial for use for human beings but not the same for other living organisms. In case of deficiency of a certain vitamin in the body supplement medicines are prescribed by the doctor to patients who are weak and supplementation is not must for already healthy people because it hardly has any nutritional benefit to the organism.
Vitamins have very diverse functions when studied for in comparison if we look up the example of Vitamin D it has a pretty important function in the metabolic function while vitamin B complex which is the most abundantly available vitamin in nature because of its presence in sunlight helps in the functions of enzymes, Vitamin B complex is also known as sunshine vitamin.

MINERALS:
As discussed in vitamins, minerals are elements which are present in food which are needed by organisms for growth and health of their bodies. The two kinds of minerals include micro minerals and trace minerals.
Micro minerals are needed by the body in high abundant volumes because of their part in body functions. Calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium are examples of minerals which are needed by the body in higher amounts or are simply known as micro minerals.
The  body needs small amount of minerals like iron, copper, zinc to name a few that’s why they are known as trace minerals.
Each mineral has separate function just like calcium is needed for the formation of teeth and bones of the body while on the other hand iron helps the muscles function in a proper composed manner.
All minerals are important for the body each in its separate quantity for each type of function.

DIFFERENCE:
One of the basic difference between vitamins and minerals is that vitamins lose their shape and chemical composition when they are heated while minerals are inorganic and keep their physical formation no matter the heat, air or acid used to try and deteriorate it.

Another difference is that minerals are present in the soil and water and they are consumed by the plants and are used for photosynthesis and other processes of life by the plant and they as a product of its life cycle and processes produce vitamins which are then consumed by organisms such as human beings.

Vitamins are considered organic which says that they are considered important for all of the processes of life while minerals are inorganic in composition and are just used in key processes by the body.
