Now, most of the cars sold are already coming with a standard air conditioner, and in some as an option, climate control is installed. Moreover, the cost of the car in the second option is slightly increased. To do this, let’s try to figure out what the system is and whether it’s worth overpaying it for money that is never superfluous.

Few people know the difference between a conventional air conditioner and climate control, and some car owners even think that there is no difference between them. In fact, there is a difference, because climate control is an improved version of the air conditioner. It has many more functions that are aimed not only at improving comfort but also in caring for the health of the driver and passengers. Understand the difference is quite simple.

The air conditioner works just to cool the air. That is, it is necessary to press the button, turn on the fan, and cold air will start to enter the salon. Temperature control is not provided, but you can only change the direction of the flow and its strength. Because the air conditioner’s capabilities are limited, it’s very easy to get sick or even catch pneumonia. The air conditioner creates a sharp temperature drop with the environment, which is detrimental to health. Moreover, if you fall asleep in a car where the air conditioner is switched on, then you can safely go to the hospital.

That is why, more than ten years ago, cars began to introduce climate control. Unlike the air conditioner, it does not just cool, but maintains the necessary temperature in the passenger compartment. Control climate control provides both manual and automatic modes. In the first case, the driver sets the required temperature, and the system constantly supports it.

In the second variant, the climate control independently sets the optimal temperature depending on the weather conditions and the driving mode. The fact is that the human body normally tolerates a temperature difference of not more than five degrees. This makes climate control in automatic mode. To do this, the car is specially installed sensors for air temperature in the cabin and the environment, as well as a sensor for solar activity. The control unit climate control analyzes the information from these sensors and, based on it, sets the required temperature. And during a long trip, when the driver is constantly in cars, you can manually lower the temperature by a few degrees.

Thus, climate control completely controls the situation and worries about the health of the driver. In some cars, even automatic dampers are provided, which directs the air according to a special scheme. The climate system works not only in the summer but also in the winter. The code on the street begins to cool, climate control already performs the role of the stove and makes the temperature in the cabin higher than in the street.

As for the maintenance of climate control, it is exactly the same as that of a conventional air conditioner. Refilling freon should be done at least once every two years, and also do not forget to change the air filter cabin.
