Rutin benefits and uses for skin, hemorrhoids, blood clots and more

 

Rutin is a phenolic compound found in some plants such as buckwheat , plums and asparagus  it is this flavonoid that give these plants their antibacterial properties. Rutin is used in many supplements , multivitamins , and herbal medicine because of it anti-inflammatory benefits , anti cancer benefits and blood vessel protection uses. Although rutin has been used in many dietary supplements and approved by the FDA to be safe , research has been done mostly on animals we will look at some of the potential benefits of rutin base on research.

This results gives us hope of coming up with a cheap drug to prevent blood clots . The researchers then went on to conduct test on mouse which prove that rutin is anti- thrombotic (reduces blood clots).

Rutin has shown great benefits for reinforcing the blood vessels and capillaries thus making it a prime suspect for vascular deficiencies and weak capillaries . Clinical trial were done to test it effect on in severe chronic insufficiency results found that it help to reduce signs and symptoms in the most severe cases of venous insufficiency and edema. In a double blinded control study rutin was test on post surgery hemorrhoid patients , who received rutin during the 5 days after surgery showed significant improvement in terms of bleeding and pruritus compared to those who didn’t receive the flavonoids. Rutin is a very powerful antioxidant which binds to free radicals in our body and get rid of them . There is growing evidence that rutin has therapeutic benefits in health conditions such as diabetes, neurodegenerative or cardiovascular diseases, these are all diseases in which oxidative stress is the hidden cause.
